Cracked Me Up

The last two weekends we have made the drive to my parents. The round trip is only about three hours and it gives Doug and I chance to talk.

We had stopped at a gas station and while he went to get drinks I decided to clean the windows. Something in the parking lot smelled horrible and Doug asked me if it was the window cleaner. Without thinking I smelled the sponge and said I didn't think so.

The look on his face was priceless. His comment?

"Why do women go through life like it is a scratch and sniff sticker."

I still laugh thinking about it. So I want to know, am I the only woman who puts the sniff test to more than a diaper?

We used to give my mom grief over doing this. She would take something out of the refrigerator, smell it, and then put it on the table. It always made us nervous...like, how long has it been in there, Momma?! When it comes to men and diapers, though, my husband would rather undress our baby to "check" than just lift him up to his nose and sniff. Weirdo.

That is too funny. We don't care what we smell do we. How many times have we picked up babies to sniff their bottoms? Countless...or is that just me?

Cari was telling me about Doug's comment! I think it's because our sniffers are so much more sensitive than the men! Case in point......I get into my husband's truck and usually say....ewwwww....gym bag, sweaty clothes.....not to mention a million other things. My comment is almost always - this stinks! His comment - what? Not to mention guys dorm rooms when we took the kids to college.......ewwww......I think scratch and sniff mentality is for our own protection!! b (ask Cari who this is) (:
